Ones I like are the big revolving motorway signs that are sort of slatted and the slats rotate to reveal the sign. They rotate the other way to remove the sign and are just a big grey board..

When the sign is blank... In the bottom RHS there's a sticker that says 'SIGN NOT IN USE'
