Default electrics gurus fuel guage floating about voltage regulator?

ok ill try and make it short as can, i have a mk4 transit recovery (1992) the shape that has the smiley lights etc but diff grill, anyways ive just updated the interior by fitting the later mk5 dashboard heater box and dials clocks etc, after a nightmare of wiring up the clocks ive got it all working, but the fuel guage seems very sensitive ie constantly moves under braking driving etc etc, i did ask the same question on another forum and it has been mentioned that theres no voltage regulator fitted on a mk4 transit???????? i spose its built into the clocks on a mk4 and somewere int he van on a mk5

basicly can i buy one these and solder it in or were the hell is one in a mk5 transit? ive gotta cure it its doing my head in, it would definatly be a pain in the arse if i have a very long run as wont know my fuel reading till i stop

can anyone help?
