you dont need mor than 256mb of ram unless running crazy resolutions such as 2048x2056 or something daft.

I run a pci-e 256mb ati x1950xt and i can play oblivion, fear, bf2, bf2142 on full speed with no slowdowns, complimented with a standard conroe 6300, 2gb of pc6700 ram, etc.
