It started life as the bobcat engine in the mark 1 & 2 fiesta's and the ford altered the valve layout and renamed it the valencia engine (built spainish factory) for the mark 3 fiesta and 4&5 escorts which ford improved it again and changed the name to the HCS unit and now ford have put a different rocker cover on it and multipoint injection and called it endura. But the block is basically the same
