seems to me they are making a big issue out of it and dare i say it some money too. Both them women need a slap IMO
As for people discussing wearing turbans - why should we take them off because people dont feel comfortable with them - they can fuck right off. I dont discriminate against people wearing their religious items but comments like that from ignorant twats piss me off.
If you guys feel that strongly about it why dont you do some research before opening your uneducated mouths. If you are brining an argument to the table at least make it a well informed one

the 5 K's are as follows and must be worn at all times:
turban (you show respect by covering your head in the presance of god, if you go to the temple you cover your head with a cloth to show the same respect
kanga (comb) to keep your hair tidy
kara (bangle) as a symbol of unity
kutch (shorts) so you are always ready to go into battle (thats why we bathe wearing our boxers
)
kirpan (sword) becuase you should always be ready to fight for our cause (we are a religion born out of war in 1699)
the turban issue is to do with health and safety, namely that you can't wear a helmet over the top, which is why the law states that you do not need to wear a helmet while riding a bike if you are a sikh and wear a turban
the second exception we have is that, as part of our true beliver status as full card carrying singhs is that we are duty bound to wear a sword, but it is an accepted thing to be allowed to wear a short dagger type blunt representation in a sheath above our vests and outer clothing
so its not as if we sikhs make a big deal out of it, the only outward signs are that some of us wear turbans and some don't while the majority wear the bangle (in various sizes and metals) and the rest is hidden away
i must also add that we have had a violent history with the muslims (which is why we rose up and because a seperate religion, but that stoy is way WAY to long to go into here) so we should be laughing and pointing about their predicament, but we don't because we are all bought up to let everyone else be themselves, as long as we go about our lifes peacefully we shold not have to worry about anyone causing a ruck
it seems that it's the muslims who are starting to show defiance to the countries that they live in as to how they should be treated on ALL parts of their religion, you don't hear about it from any other religion really do you, and you have to wonder why.....................
