i'll say just this on the matter and then i'll say no more ( as it's my garage that it failed on)

yrself and chris wanted it re-tested/tested by tester 2 cos you hoped he'd be leanent, at the end of the day if he passes it and you sell it ( i'e you had ther new owner collecting it that night!!) and somthing happens too the car in an accident etc HE WILL lose his licence to test and his job - would you risk yr job for him??
i will say i felt he was a tad hard on inspecting to welding but if done properly by the garage that you took it to you wouldn't have had that problem.

tester 1 in my opinion was straight to the line as he was only tested by the ministry sum 3 weeks ago and passed with flying colours and tester 2 had a 5 year refresh test 5 weeks ago, so both of my testers are up to speed with testing

as for the retest, as said above if you take the vehicle away it HAS to have a full retest. the laws on retests changed about 3 months ago, read the back of the failure sheets we gave you.
