hi,
to adjust the rear brakes properly you will need to remove the rear drums which house the bearings. The correct procedure according to ford is to remove the stub axle from behind and drum complete so as not to disturb the bearings, in reality very few people do it the proper way and just undo the centre nut and pull of the drum. Dont know torque figure to do it up but good and tight is usually ok.
Remember to back off the handbrake cable adjuster first though under the handbrake lever gaiter. Also check the inner faces of the drums and remove any ridges otherwise this will prevent the brakes being adjusted up nice and snug.
