Why will it screw the diff up?
the machine only turns the wheels over at 5-6 mph, how can that be worse than wheel spinning in a corner and spinning the LSD up at high speed?
It brake test each wheel at a time, then both together. There are different tests for varying vehicles such as 4x4, LSD fitted vehicles. Some testers just ignore the guidelines and use the rollers. It isn't incase of harm
