They're only really better if you use the car to it's limit. I was very happy with the standard brakes on my Sapphire cossie, and only changed to AP 4 Pots after I'd done a few track days and found out what brake fade was all about. For the road, you'll be fine with the standard brakes if they're in good condition. On the road, they're perfect, ........ On the track, you'll realize that they can be improved on.

If you search hard, you should be able to pick up a pair of 330mm AP 4 Pots for about a grand..... Second Hand, but in VGC. Or about Twelve Hundred Quid for a new pair.

They really do hold their prices, even the good second hand ones.
