Although it's a manual, it needs an ATF fluid and the best options are the Amsoil ATF, Red Line D4 or Fuchs ATF6000, although the others are fine as cheaper alternatives.

Hi

Oops, sorry, I missed the bit about diffs. The ATF isn't suitable for that, you want a SAE 90 LS oil like the Fuchs Titan Race Gear 90LS, Shell TS90 or Motul 90PA.

Some Scottish & Highlands post codes are not included. For this reason we have created the voucher code ISLANDS to give customers in these areas £5 off their shipping cost.

Hi Terry

You need an oil that meets the BMW LL98, LL01 or LL04 specification.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-684-bmw-longlife-98.aspx
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-685-bmw-longlife-01.aspx
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-686-bmw-longlife-04.aspx

The oils are all good oils as they need to be to meet the BMW specification, so take your pick based on any price/brand preference you have, although if it burns at lot of oil, go for one of the 5w-40s.

Cheers

Tim

Any idea how hot the oil gets in the Focus when driven hard?

I would use a 5w-40 synthetic in the Cosworth.

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx

Out of those, the best ones are the Fuchs/Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS/CFS NT, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XF Longlife, Fuchs GT1 XTL/Supersyn, Gulf Formula G, Shell Helix and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives.

Although it's a manual, it needs an ATF fluid and the best options are the Amsoil ATF, Red Line D4 or Fuchs ATF6000, although the others are fine as cheaper alternatives.
