Oil light mystery
Help??
I went out to car (1996 2.0 Mondeo) one morning and found the oil pressure light on. Ignition off, but light on?? OK dud oil pressure switch I thought. Start up car light goes out as normal. Plenty oil, no funny noises. OK so I temporarily disconect wire to oil pressure switch(dangerous I know) until I can replace switch. No light, result, buy new oil pressure switch and plan to fit it at first possible opportunity. Couple of days go past, car runs fine, no oil light. Go out this morning, bloody light illuminated again?? Start up car it goes out as before? When I disconnected the wire from the switch I did tape up the end so it can't touch anything by mistake & earth itself.
Anyone any idea what the F is going on??
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers

Oil Light???
Yes,
The light is on with no key in the ignition!!. That is what has got me baffled, as I thought there should be no power to any circuits, well certainly not that one.
Any thoughts?
