Default XR2i Carb conversion

Hi everyone, I have today been given an XR2i on an H plate, the only thing is its EFI bits have been robbed for spares. But I do have a twin choke Weber from an XR3 in the garage so I'm going to get her running again old skool stylee! Thing is, once I bolt the manifold and carb on there is the small problem of electrics, I have removed the camshaft blanking plate to reveal the end of the cam so I know that a dizzy will go on, but I'm going to need a coil, distributor and part of a loom. I have a dizzy off an XR3i, dont know if this will be any good, its the 3 mini pin type, orange cap. Anyone tell me the simplest way of getting her running and what parts to use? Not really interested in going back to EFI, too many wires and stuff and ECU and everything has already gone, I'm just left with a CVH lump so I want a simple set up.

you may need to change the tank and pump as well as the injection fuel pump would be higher pressure than required for a carb, so may be easier in the long run to stick with efi, plenty of xr2i bits are about and are cheap.

Thats a good point, but I have a couple of probs, namely I dont know whats missing from the car regarding all the bits, and I also have access to a 1100 fiesta so if I cant bypass the pump by running a new fuel line I could swap tanks over from the other one. I kinda fancy getting it up and running on a carb so I can put twin 40's on later, just to be different. The EFI system is all double dutch to me and I grew up with 1600 cvh's on twin choke webers!

You would be better of with the efi mate it's got to be easyer to put the bit's back on than changing it to carb xr2i (efi) bit's are next to nothing to buy post a pic of the engine bay so we can see what's gone then we can see if it's worth puting the efi bits back or if it would be easyer to change it to carb

Took my camera and also got an update today, the previous owner said it needed a new crankshaft sensor, when he put one in the gap was too far apart, does that make sense to anyone? after that it never went again. I have sourced most of the efi parts from the car, they hadn't gone far! looking at the bits, reckon I'll need an ecu and the proper crankshaft sensor if its going to be kept efi, trouble is I havent a clue about the efi system. Anyway heres a pic of whats there

The ecu in the boot looks a bit suspect, casing screws missing etc, thats why I reckon i'll need a new one, for peace of mind

I don't get it. Everything seems to be there if you include the parts in the back.

In that case I will put it all together with a different ecu and a new crankshaft sensor and see what happens. Anyone tell me where the sensor is located on these?

What's wrong with the ecu you have in the back? One thing missing is the coil-pack support...

Its a bit battered and has screws missing as if someones been inside, and is the coil pack support the small frame with the 3 mounting bolt holes? If so I do have that somewhere.
