Default CVH Engines

Bit of a newbie to small block ford engines...looking for advice on the old CVH engine.
1. what is the largest oversize piston available to the 1.3/1.6 block and who would be the best supplier

2. I have a NOS Crosshatch 1.3 head here...would be it feasible to have that head ported and polished to fit a 1.6 engine (Have the ports enlarged to the 1.6 size)

3. Do they still supply solid lifters for these engines?

Lastly, how would you increase the compression ratio on these engines?
Would like to have at least 10:1

Look forward to hearing from the CVH gurus.

Available from Newman as complete cam kits.

10:1 is absolutely achievable, head skim will do the trick with plenty of meat left

Thanks a bunch for that...I haven't done much with the hemi style engines...was worried about the valves making contact with the pistons....any idea as to how much I would need to remove to get 10:1??
Cheers and thanks again when using a higher lift cam....

I honestly cant remember what i removed to get 11:1 - however whoever does the machine work should be able to measure/calculate for you.
As for piston size, +1mm was easily attainable, i believe you could go as far as +1.5mm (or maybe 1.25) but it was really not a good idea as the walls were getting v.thin at that point.
I ran +1mm pistons, decent compression, high lift solid cam, top spec head, fully balanced and blueprinted bottom end - would regularly hit 8k rpm on one of my old n/a cvh's - loved it!

i doubt it's bores 0.050" as it's not a standard oversize. it may well be 0.50mm though? 1mm oversize should be readily avaiable if so

Default CVH 1.6 Block

Think it is more practical to find a standard 1.6 block and bore out for new pistons...anyone have a std. 1.6 Block for sale???
