Default how to tell inlet and outlet cams apart

I have an 1800 blacktop zetec in my mk1 fiesta, since doing a head rebuild and cambelt change the ignition timing is off, does anyone know how to tell the inlet and outlet cams apart just to check I haven't put them in the wrong way round? I can find much online
thanks

it wouldn't run if they were in the wrong way. the inlet cam has the notch for the cam sensor on the back if you want to be sure.
