Tensioner help Mondy MK3
Is this the tensioner for the alt' belt and other things......
If so, how to I get slack on it to remove the belt? Also do I need to remove the tensioner as the belt seems to go over a pulley on the inside of the tensioner and against the block so have no idea how this can come out without taking the tensioner off?
Car.... 2003 2.5 V6 Duratec Mondeo MK3
Any help would be great.

Yes that is the tensioner, usually just put a spanner or Allen key etc in the middle and turn to release the spring tension. Not sure about removing the belt, not familiar with the setup, it should just wiggle off if things are a bit tight. Quite often engine mounts go through the middle of them which makes things a bit more complicated!

i have a special lever tool that fits into the square slot on the tensioner to be able to pivot it, but you can do it from underneath with a prybar its just fiddly, to remove the tensioner completely you have to remove the lower gearbox mount and the engine mount and jack the engine up as far as you can to get to the allen key holding it, there is literally just enough room, if you are just changing belt iirc by just loosing the tensioner slightly you can tease the belt around it and the other pulley near it instead of removing the whole tensioner

Thanks guys!
Looked on Ebay and 99% sure this is the correct belt?
The belt thats on there has been there since new, so 12 years so I thought I should change it, although it does look a bit of a tricky job so thanks for the tips
