cosworth serious hesitating under accelerating!
Ok i finally got my car running (sierra cosworth L6 ecu stage 1) but it has a horrible hesitation problem under load, it idles perfectly and if i slowly rev its great but if you blip the throttle or floor it it just goes mental, i have changed the following items
Crank sensor
Phase sensor
Dizzy cap & rotor arm
New spark plugs
Timing is ok
all gaps are good
Its driving me insane could anybody help with suggestions! Thanks!

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
How did you set the fuel pressure reg?
Was the 3 bar set with the vacuum on or off?
Is it definately a rising rate type regulator?
Check voltage at fuel pump as well

I thought fuel pressure should be 3.5bar with vac hose disconnected? Dropping to roughly 3bar at idle with hose connected.
Can someone else confirm please before this chap melts a piston.

Hi mate sorry thats what i meant i set it to 3.5 bar with vac off and it drops to 3 bar with vac connected, my alternator is brand new 65 amp would that cause such erratic behaviour? fuel pump is brand new 044, connections all seem fine mate, i may change the regulator for a standard one if i can find one.. thanks for the replies.

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
Check your MAP sensor, i had the same problem.
Luckily I have a monitor so I saw right away that my MAP pressure
shouldn't be 1 bar with engine turned off.
