Default Zetec turbo compression advice

Im trying to finish my zetec turbo orion its been 7yrs since i fitted the engine it was then fitted with a spacer plate and 2 multi layer shim gaskets with the thought of 14psi boost i never liked the idea of 2 gaskets question is do i go back to std comp on 1 gasket and run 8psi as im old now and thinking 200bhp would be lots in a orion and would it be safer as i don't have lots of cash to chuck at it as i have a couple of fast fords already ideally a new set of pistons but no cash for it atm its a early 1998 2.0 silvertop with a rs turbo t3 rs1800 inlet and cossie greens megasquirt 2v3 ecu thanks in advance

Focus rs 1.8mm thick head gasket might help reduce the compression ratio.
