Default Cosworth yb best turbo 450bhp?

Hi guys
Looking for a bit of advice on which is the best turbo to make a good solid reliable 400-450 with minimal lag!!! Have a good spec 7.2cr engine with ported head cams etc.preferably internally gated.was considering borg warner efr or gt3071r.any help would be greatly appreciated from people who have tried and tested
Thanks eoin

borg warner efr i know they have small diameter of the front back wheel but you can have many bar boost 2.8 3 bar.and minimum lag .but very expensive ..change the cr is to low cant help you to reduce the lag .go for 8:1 8:5 you will see big diffirence in low rpm

I have the EFR on mine...nothing that I know of comes close. Good for 530 bhp at full chat on the smallest twin scroll, mine did 420 on low boost and 470 on high and that is on a bog standard engine...it is lag free and feels worlds apart from my T34 that I had.

Hi EFR 7064, mine is internally gated due to space requirements in the 205 shell. You do need the manifold too. MAD (Mark Shead)is the Borg Warner king.

Have a look a look at the dyno plot, as soon as you touch the throttle the boost starts to build.

Yes, these are night and day compared to T34, people do not believe the hype but they transform the engine and the power they make is fantastic. The low boost map felt quicker than the T34 and was probably producing less headline power but still had 420 lbft of torque and that coupled with the quick spool up made for a much faster car. I cant wait to try the high boost once the close ratio box is in, it is going to be a rocket ship.

Yes 205 block, will have it long studded before too long but if the builder says to use a different block then that will be considered.

Mine is a Peugeot 205, Mark got a bespoke one to fit, you need the manifold to unleash the full magic I think.
