Default what to use to bodge a sump up........

Girlfriends £200 punto is weeping oil from front of sump, needs topping up every few days!

It's not worth doing properly so any advice to bodge it? I was thinking tiger seal all over sump when it's been cleaned up?

Cheers all!!

Surely you could get a sump from a scrappy for a tenner and bolt it on?

whatever you do it needs to be clean and dry which is difficult to do if your not removeing the sump, it will weep a little oil for ages unless its emptied and cleaned from the inside.

if you can get it clean and dry I think I would jb weld a piece of tin to it, ive jb welded a self tap screw in the bottom of a block that was porous and leaking a jet of water in the sump and its still going strong so far, touch wood lol

Fix it properly or buy her a new car. If the zorst won't go back on then chuck a new one on, it will be £100 or less

A new sump is only £30ish from your local parts people and you DO NOT need to take the exhaust off to replace them either as the sump slides out no problem. I do about 3 a month for customers and it will only take you 30 mins tops to remove and replace. Just make sure yo leave the sump glue to dry for a few hrs before you put the oil back in and then your ready to go again.

I done it once, I keyed it up with 180, sprayed it with carb cleaner and used chemical metal, it did work, all depends on the surface etc

the sumps on these are a common problem because they rot, as soon as you start tampering with it, it will be worse.

as said above, sump should be no more than £10-15 from a scrappy. dont bother fucking around trying to bodge something
