Issues with ford escort van
Can anyone please tell me what are the right type pressures for this kind of car derived van?
I also have to get a new lights stalk because my rear lights were not working because of some sort of connectivity issue with the switch. Any one know if that is a really easy job to do?
Finally the fuel cap hasn't got a key so I cant open it. I was lucky it had half a tank of diesel to get me back the 75 miles home after the AA man had sprayed something onto the switch stalk to get enough connectivity to get the back lights working again.
At least he said it wasn't a bad engine. But it hasn't been cared for very little oil in it and water.

going sideways in a fwd
55 van front 29 rear 26 fully loaded front 35 rear 44
fuel caps are few quid
stalk is 15 minute job,
disconnect battery if you have to remove the steering wheel,
air bag bolts are on the back of wheel
make sure you know the code first if its a genuine ford radio
switch ignition on pressing button 6 if I remember right

Thanks
I just had one garage tell me that they would have to replace the whole unit not just a single stalk. £240 new unit or £48 if I could get a second hand unit for them to fit.

stalks on vans made after 1995 are a single unit and 2nd hand fetch around £15 and takes a few minutes to change a easy job for even a novice, fuel caps as mentioned are cheap and in most cases simply need soaking in oil to free up dirt trapped in keyway or again 2nd hand around £10
