Nylon Fuel Line and Barb Fittings - How to connect?
So I needed to replace the connector to my fuel filter on my Escos.
It's an elbow barb connector into a plastic (I assume Nylon) fuel line.
The fuel line is very stiff and I can't get the elbow's barbs the whole way into it.
I've tried the heat the fuel line with boiling water method multiple times, no luck.
I've looked online for a tool to help with this, but this tool only seems to be sold in the US - (It's a Dorman tool)
Surely it can't be that hard to fit one of these? Has anyone else got any tips onto how to do this? Is there a tool in the UK to do this?
Any advice greatly appreciated as I've wasted most of this weekend trying to get this on!

Thanks - how does that work in terms getting the connector into the line?
It looks a bit like the clamp I've built to hold fuel line whilst I try to push the fitting in. It's the pushing it in that I'm having the trouble with?

It's an air pipe fitting tool for fitting voss coupling fittings into air pipe on trucks. It clamps the pipe then you lightly tap the barbed fitting in with a hammer

I see, thanks - I'm not sure that will help as that's effectively exactly what I've made.
I've tried tapping it in with the hammer and that's not working. One of the problems that I don't think is helping is that it's an elbow joint and so there's no way of hitting it squarely?

I've used that tool many many times in the work shop and on the road if the pipe is iver 6/8/10 or 12mm it will work. If you was any wear near me if say run the pipe down and I'll fit the fitting

We have another vice mounted tool as well that presses the fitting in. It has different size anvils for smaller pipe and imperial pipe that one above is a daf special tool.
If the pipes off the car you can post it too me and I'll push the fitting in

Thanks very much for the offer, really appreciate it! Sadly the pipe is still on the car and connected at the other end.
I'll have another go with the hammer and see if that works out.

That tool at the top each pipe grove has teeth going half way up it to grip the pipe and not let it move. The rest of the way up is a little wider than the pipe so it can expand as you hammer in the fitting
