Escort mk2 zetec efi very high idle
Hi,
I've recently bought a mk2 escort fitted with a silvertop zetec running on standard efi setup, there is a problem with the idle in that it idles around 2500-3000 rpm when warm. After a while it will drop back to normal idle but can take 2mins to do this. Sometimes it will idle normally but still takes 5-10 seconds for the idle to drop.
I've fitted a brand new genuine ford idle control valve, adjusted the TPS to be 0.7v at closed throttle, checked for air leaks but nothing has worked. I have noticed if I unplug the ISCV it will drop down to a low idle, which tells me the ECU is telling the ISCV to stay open.
As its in a mk2 I don't have the vehicle speed sensor connected, would this cause the problems I'm having? or something else?
Thanks
