Default stage 3 boost psi

my recently bought 2wd 3 dr is a stage 3-running level 8 ecu-greens and what loooks like a blue collins actuator-it would seem to be a collins chip looking back at the history of the car[it has a lambda sensor fitted too]
the motor is a low comp 200 series engine
it runs a lot of boost-shoots off the scale at 30psi[the max the gauge reads]
cant hear it det/pink-it runs through an amal valve not a boost controller
its got an rs500 type i/c too

now i built a 2wd sapph st3 almost 2 decades ago collins chip/greens/3 bar/green top motor it ran about 25psi...

so i suppose the question is -too much boost psi on current car?

what are your thoughts

No Tony, that's fine for peak boost on a T34, i run 35 psi on mine, yes that's a lot but it's when you hold them at high revs for long periods trouble can happen

If its holding 30 odd psi on greens surely that would be boom time. Get it checked over to be sure.

Its not too much so long as its fuelling correctly.

Get it checked on a rolling road or go up the road with an AFR gauge in it.

well-i checked the actuator preload[collins blue one] and the wastegate penny arm is about 20mm or more from the actual actuator arm hole...

i"ve set it at just tighter than half hole pull over so will get it out tommorow for a wee test, whilst looking over it i noticed that the pipes to amal velve dont have any restrictor pills in them, not that they would be needed with the actuator wound that tight-is this still the method used for adjusting boost on amal controlled cosworths?
i"ve worked on turbo cars scince about 1985 and never seen an actuator wound so tight

half hole gives about 22 psi-if that peak, dropping to 18/20[with amal connected]
whats the best placement for a pill>reducer amal breather, feed from turbo or to actuator, and what size generally gets used? i want around 28psi peak and that will more than likely settle at 25/6 psi
thats plenty for cutting about the roads, its wet today and 22 psi probably too much

Amal valve will now need jets to suit, probably try a 2mm jet think 2.5mm is standard,I used small brass screw and drilled hole down centre,
