Default Air leaking into cabin problem. Help :(

Hello everyone,

Help needed please. This is driving me nuts.

At 60mph+ there is a loud sound like air pissing into the cabin.

We sealed up the mirrors with tigerseal, there was some water coming in after washing it.

Can't feel any air coming in on both drivers side and passenger side.

It's the noise that's driving me mad.

Door seals look ok but then again am I missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Philip.

Don't know about the windscreen.

How to check?

Just see if I can feel any air?

Cheers mate,

Philip.

Pretty much. I'm guessing the car's a Sierra, so remove the a-post trims and if possible (provided it hasn't been glued in) the inner rubber trim that goes around the edge of the aperture. Take a drive out with a mate and check around the edges of the glass at above 60mph.

Thanks for the advice. Didn't even think of the windscreen as it sounds like it's coming from the mirrors and downwards.

Will do your action plan and get back with results!!

Cheers mate, results tomorrow I'd say.

Philip.

p.s. It's a crystal blue Saff Cossie indeed

If I can't find anything with the windscreen is there anything else I can try?

I think the yellow spongy insulation has been removed around the mirrors and a pillars.

Would this deaden the sound if I put new sponge back in?

Any advice is welcome.

Cheers,

Philip.

Check under the dash where grommets and things live in the bulkhead. Try what you can basically.

I remember on wheeler dealers with the aston martin, they used a machine to fill the interior with fog/smoke to find the source of a leak.

Cheers lads for the tips. Still haven't got round to this as I'm working 12 hour shifts all week. Friday hopefully.

Will post results when I get them.

Cheers,

Philip.
