Default escort engine swap question

hi all
my 2001 escort van engine has died and for the cost of the parts it seems better just to put a new engine in.
the problem i have is that i can't find any 2001 engines, would the 1997/98/99
engines fit? it is the 1.8 diesel non turbo
thanks
will

Does your van have the TDDI engine? We have the TDDI in our focus and that's an X reg.If its a 1997 engine engine the set up will most likely be different even the 98 models. You will have more chance with the 99 model onwards

cheers for the quick reply rick it is the non turbo diesel (just edited the post can't believe i forgot to mention that )
it seems that the 1995-1999 are the same.
i'm not really interested if it the exact engine just if it will fit the mounts and box
