Fiesta starting problems
New here but really hoping someone can shed some light on my problem.
Bought a 10 plate fiesta 1.4tdci (mk7) a few months ago, and generally im quite happy wth the little thing. The problem i have is thats its developed an intermittent starting fault. Sometimes when i start the car it will fire up, but run rough as if its lost a cylinder, whilst at the same time the rev counter doesnt move at all, and the battery light is illuminated. This lasts for about 5-6 seconds and then everything seems to sort itself out.
However whats concerning me is a friend noticed there was alot of blue smoke coming from the exhaust one one occasion when this happened. Although to me it smells like unburnt diesel.
Im thinking it might be a glowplug thats faulty, therefore the cars running a cylinder down for a few seconds until it gets a bit of heat from the other cylinders, and exhausting some unburnt diesel in the process.
The only thing im stuck on is why the rev counter doesnt register any revs at all whilst
this is happening.
Sorry for the longwinded post, but anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.
