Im going to be converting my mk4 to a blacktop 2.0 zetec i know i preferably need pre pats loom and ecu

I have found a 1.8 130spec escort cab wiring loom and ecu from an L reg with ecu code COPY

Would this work? if i was to swap the ecu for the pre pats 2.0 version?

Use the 130 loom and find ecu, DATA or DALE can't remember the other. They get round the pats issue as we're before and are 2.0 ecu's

You have to make sure it's correct for the loom.
As fiestas an escorts non-pats have and edis-4 module ,
Mondeo a have ignition Inside the ecu

Is the guy above me right? Ive not bought anything yet as nothing is coming up. Found Rs1800 loom and ecu too but thuats not 2.0

It will still run. The 130 1.8 is the same cam, tb, and maf as a 2.0, just without the extra cc. I'm pretty sure it will fuel fine

Yes your right but,
(We'll use a rs1800 fiesta as an example)

this car has fuelling controlled in ecu , and spark is done with the edis 4.

If you then changed the engine to a mondeo 2 litre whether it is non pats or not doesn't matter, as the mondeo ecu controls fuel/ spark. No edis 4.

So in regards to your first post, you want to use a non pats 2litre ecu, these are only mondeo . So you can't!

You might as well just use the 130 escort ecu with the 2litre.
Me and a mate have done this in the past .

So ive got 2 choices, The escort 1.8 130bhp loom and ecu i originally posted about or ..

On a side note then, Ive also been offered a fiesta rs1800 loom and ecu. Is this good to use aswell? i assisted in fitting an rs1800 in a ka not long back and we used the loom in there with no problems but i am using a blacktop 2.0 not a silvertop.

Sorry i been away for a while

I got offered a loom and ecu from a fiesta rs1800 for 70Ł yesterday and was told the guy ran his blacktop zetec off this.

Id like to know for definite before i invest that its going to run my zetec fine before i invest??

Bought rs1800 stuff and its not as described and absolutely buggered.

Found another rs1800 loom and ecu but the guys telling me its a very late one on M reg and has pats...
