Default Temp gauge wiring help

Hi, I will try to keep it brief. Mk6 escort X reg temp gauge gets it's reading through the ECU, with the 2 litre and ECU from mondeo fitted the gauge does not work as in the mondeo it never ran through the ECU. Is there a way of getting the gauge to work?
Many thanks
J

I know its not an impressive car and all that but it is my daily drive for the family and with the hot weather it would be nice to have a temp gauge to keep an eye on so we do not have to have the heating on in this hot weather wondering if we will be left at the side of the road. Any help much appreciated.

I dont think people are not replying cause of the car bud, if you can get the dash out run a wire from the sender connection on the back of the gauge to somewere on the cars coolant system with a bolt on it like a bleed bolt if it has one and see if that moves the gauge. This is if the temp/resistance range is the same as the gauge. Sorry dont know much on mondeo engines lol.
