Hi i am looking at having a 0.68 fifth gear ratio fitted into my 2wd T5 gearbox.
The gearbox is going into an Escort Mk1 Cosworth.
With the small wheels the engine revs to high in 5th

Has anyone had a conversion like this done and point me to a specialist who would do the work.

Any advice would be appreciated

I've got an atlas going in it with a 3.77 LSD.
I want acceleration, and a cruising gear.

There is no such option for the cosworth t5 as the american versions have a different spline on the output shaft for their 5. gears. You would then have to change your output shaft for an american one, but then your prop shaft wont fit as the splines for the yoke is different.

What's your total wheel & tyre height, 22 inches maybe??...

If its an atlas it is 3:75.1 ...
3:77.1 is the English axle ...

there is a company that makes the t5 5th gears high ratio .70 i think for the cosworth
