Mk1 Zetec power issue
Hi everyone!
I own a 2000 ford focus 1.8 petrol zetec and im experiencing loss of power under heavy load between idle and 1800 revs. I noticed today when my girlfriend was driving the car she had her foot planted down on the gas and there was no power around 1500 revs, also the engine management light was flashing - then all of a sudden the power kicked in and it was fine. It seems if i need to take off quickly it struggles with power until the engine is over 2k revs. Sometimes it feels like the clutch is slipping but ive just had the clutch changed. I do a lot of motorway journeys and the milage is currently 124k. (racked up 20k miles in the last year) Ive had the coil pack + HT leads changed as they went on me about 6 months ago, it gets a general service every year, (due in 3 months), speed sensor has been changed, cam belt was changed at 100k and new water pump changed a few weeks ago.
My question = Does this sound like the cat is on its way?
Many thanks in advance, Adam
