Angry Stressed Right Out With Focus

I am right stressed out with a problem on my focus 1.6 LX Saloon ( Auto )

When I drive over small pot - holes or uneven roads I get a rattling sound that sounds like metal been to ATS & Halfords Auto centre and both garages can not find the problem. All is as it should be under the car there is no play in anything and the brakes are not rattling around it's gets very loud sometimes and it make the car sound like a wreck.

What can I do or what can I try to solve this problem or does anybody know where I could go I am in Liverpool..

Thanks People

I had the same issue - its as if metal is coming in contact with metal?

Bought some front links and the noise went (they were like Ł6 each to me)

Edit: saying that, it could be one of the head shields hitting the exhaust etc

your first mistake was taking it to ATS and Halfords. Any decent garage will sort it.

I had this with my old 58 plate Focus.
Gk Ford was scratching their heads for weeks.
They did alsorts to try and find it.
They even tried glueing the driveshafts as they thought it was that.
Think it was the control arms in the end.

however, I had similar mine was lower ball joints. just jack up the front wheel from the side its coming from and give the wheel a good tug and get someone to watch the ball joint movement.

To eliminate drop links just remove one! drive and see if it happens!

You sure all the nuts and bolts are tight? Any wishbone play?

Wheel nuts tight?
