Ford 711 1300 vs 681F 1600 engines

Default Ford 711 1300 vs 681F 1600 engines
Hi All,

I am hoping to do a engine swap on my Ford Escort MK1, which currently has a 1100 engine.

The options that I have now are a 1300 engine with a 711 block and a 1600 engine with a 681F block. Which of these engine are better in your opinion? Any help is greatly appreciated.

1600 would be the obvious choice really

So the bigger powered engine is preferred. Arent 711 blocks generally preferred over the others?
