Default 205 cosworth 4x4

Hi guys im a new member looking for a bit of advice i own a 205 cosworth 4x4 running close to 500bhp but im having a problem with a major missfire/flatspot on full boost its like hitting a wall ! on gentle boost ordinary driving its fine but if i give it full boost then i get the fault, changed plugs to 1k31 gapped to .60mm but no difference ,only thing i have noticed is that it seems to get worse the longer i drive it , its running wasted spark set up , im not that familiar with cosworth engines any info much appreciated

Easiest way to diagnose a ign fault is on a rolling road as you can easily replicate the misfire in safe conditions. Find a reputable one near by and give them a bell

205 block running 4x4? this could be your problem. Although the 205 block is fine in RWD cars, the block was not built with the strength to hadle the front diff on a 42x4 being bolt to it. There is a chance you have cracked the block or at the least blown a gasket.

Or do you mean you have a 200 block?

Is this 205 Block or 205 Peugeot? (If pug H20 Cos??)

This could be many things, I have heard of intake pipes collapsing and cutting off the air to the engine.

I think a trip to the rollers is the way forward.

Cool, I am just rebuilding J20 SRS the other magazine 205 Cossie in red....it is having a total reprint and rebuild and very altered styling.....would be great to picture it with H20 COS one day as they seem to be sister cars and H20 was also on my bedroom wall as a teenager....I knew I would own one of the two one day.

Are you running wasted spark?
