Default Small turbo escort cosworth management

Right I know a lot of people who are tuning the small turbo escort cosworth, get rid of the original setup and retro fit weber management.
This really is a step backwards these days. In my opinion !

What I would like to do would be to do the opposite to
What everyone else does and fit that lot on the older engine.
Now I know there alot of different parts.

What I want to know what would be the downfall of fitting this setup,
Tuning would not be and issue these days as,
From what I can remember stu at MSD was developing this system (is this now finished)
Or if not an aftermarket ecu.

If any one knows a bit about this system please fill me in
( I know the differences between them before I get told 36-1 front pulley, revised inlet manifold, different TB, ISCV, injectors, maf sensor bla bla)

Cheers Luke

The ford system is not that good imo and MSD did'nt get around to there tuning package due to costs etc.

I'd run a L8 ecu weber with all goodies from msd wasted spark etc. ive run this on my cortina and on my saff for many years.

hope this helps

It's far superior to the Weber Marelli in many aspects. MSD didn't get to finish their package because the development car was altered so significantly from the original set up it didn't make sense to continue. Cost had nothing to do with it.

I now run a MegaSquirt plug and play system, I had someone build me the MS inside of the ST EEC IV management case so that everything looks and connects as standard. No wires to mod, no new sensors to add just connect, set the parameters for EDIS cars, enter a base ignition map, fuel is set by the software which will generate a base fuel map according to engine and injector size. There is even an autotune fuction...
