Default Getting a mk1 1.8 petrol focus remapped?

Hi,

Looking at getting my mk1 focus 1.8 petrol remapped. The only performance mods I've got are a straight thro exhaust(not decatted) and an induction kit.

What sort of increase could I get and for what sort of price? Also interested in if my fuel consumption could be improved.

Evolution Chips map would be a good choice but a better performance gain would be seen from fitting an ST170 4-2-1 manifold and decat. The map will likely gain you in the region of 4bhp or so and maybe drive a little better but that's it, not totally worth the money. I had a comprehensively modded 1.8 MK1 and if I was to do it again I'd have induction kit, ST170 manifold, 4-2-1, cat-back and remap. Cams and the other stuff I did wasn't worth the outlay although it did make it quicker it became too peaky, great at Santa Pod, not so great on the road.

buy a 2 litre model. 15 bhp for pretty much no outlay
