Default Petrol tank flushing

Got my new tank back from the powder coaters today. Have flushed it several times with Shell's finest, but I am getting very fine black debris coming out. Is this usual? Is there any thing else I should be flushing with?

Thanks in advance,
Ade

I would probably wash it through with a hose first, make sure it's properly dry after. Then get it fitted up and change the fuel filter after a couple of hundred miles.

Cheers Richie,

Was concerned about using water, but as you say I guess it will be Ok if the tank is dried out fully.

Ade.

Spent all morning flushing with water, but finaly got it clear. Now drying prior to flushing with petrol. Should be all worth it when it is fitted.
