Default 1.6 tdci turbo issue

Hi, I have bought a 1.6 tdci fiesta zetec s on a 57 plate. Since buying it a few people have mentioned turbo issues. A simple google search has found lots of focus issues, but not really many fiesta issues. Is it mainly the focus that suffers turbo failure?? Or is the fiesta just as bad?

They all suffer unfortunately mate, doesn't even matter if you look after it and service regularly either. The design of the engine causes oil ways to block up and eventually starve the turbo resulting in failure. Usually game over after turbo failure and you should be looking for a NEW engine, a used engine will just land you in the same position eventually. Sell it!!

as above really though ignoring the service schedule and flushing the engine and changing the oil every 4 thousand miles helps prevent it iirc the service gaps on these are something ridiculous like every 18,000 miles!
