Default No oil pressure at start up

Hey guys, im kinda new here. I own a XR4I its a project car and its coming back together now. But now i have à problem. If i start the car it has no oil pressure. You can hear the engine knocking and slowly it builds up pressure again and it stops knocking.

I knew the oil level was low so i changed the oil and filter. Problem was still there. So i started checkong the pressure. Pressure was fine. After that had no problems for a period of time. Last saturday started it in 1 month. Same problem again. The sunday and monday again.

I dont know what it could be?

Either a worn pump or the gauze over the end of the sump pick up tube is clogged I would say. Is there a non return valve in the oil filter?

I doubt the pump . The pump did produce the needed pressure.
I think i can check the oil filter by removing it. If there's a valve in it it would come
Out right?

Oil Is half synthetic 10w40

Problem solved! The gauze was clean. I had 2 failing parts. The gasket between the pump and the pick up tube was blown out. Also the oil pressure sender was demolished/croocked. So it couldnt fit completly in the thread picking up air from the outside.

Starting like a sunshine again! Thanks for the tip
