Default street KA luxury inside floor soaking (seriously)

right im stumped with this as it is some thing that hapens it would seem when it feels like it.

it could rain hard all night and in the morning the floor will be dry. or it could rain hard all night and i could get in the car and find a puddle (i mean i could scoop it out) puddle in pas floor.

there seems to be NO visible leaks and i am unsure where the drain pipes/points are on these car so cant even check if they are blocked?.

please could some one help as i am using her car and i am beyond sick of it and would like to sort it.

thanks in advance

the only way to properly find a water leak is to remove the carpet and sound deadening and possibly the dash to get proper access to the bulkhead.....then lie inside and get someone to soak it and look for where its entering from...its a pain in the ass but only way to be sure.

surely there is an easier way?. some times if the feet well is dry i put my hand behind the seat its wet there. would this point to the leak being at the rear of the car?. the car is not loosing any water so its not matrix related,

but fucking anoying to say the least. i would like her to get a new car but wont part with this until it is sorted

Our mondeo had a similar thing ,we ended up taking the carpet out and driving around to see if we could find it ,turned out to be a bit of sealer had come away up in the top of the bulkhead behind the dash on the passenger side ,the water off the tyres on a wet day would spray up and it would trickle in ,some days there was puddles of water
we tried every thing before that that the people on forums had said with no luck but this cured it

Another option is to take the carpet out and sprinkle flour about, that way you dont have to be in the car to track where its coming in from. Leave it over night and in the morning you can use the tracks to trace it back to the source (admittedly the end result might be abit messy though)

I used to do water leaks when I worked at ford. They had a massive issue when the puma/fiesta first came out.
To fix it properly first time it's the best way to do it... Most of the time it runs in from above. Get it done before it starts to smell.

it is parked pretty much the same place at home and that is flat and at work it can some times be on a slope. al have to get a proper look at it as havent had time yet and just thought i would ask incase there is an easy fix due to it possibly being a common fault but i guess it isntat i should worry about

is there any thing like seat belt pre tensioners or air bag etc that i should worry about or do to prevent any thing being broken if i have to take the dash/seats/carpet out etc

cheers

is there a particular area of the bulk head i should pay atention to once dash is removed or will it just be pour water over car and look for leak.

will the airbag light come on if steering wheel is removed and is there any hiden or awkward bolts that hold the dash in that i might want to know about before i go trying to remove it?

thanks for your replys

.

My Mondeo used to do that, ended up being that the water was running passed the door rubber at the top of the door, running around the door edge to the bottom and running over the rubber as it was trapped to get out, Ended up cutting a small notch out of the rubber seal at the bottom of the door frame so that the water would escape. Never got wet since
