Default Cosworth LSD rear diffs, lame and need tightening

I've used STD LSDs in the past and they are quite poor at putting the power down, so I've switched to a welded diff which does very well at being consistent and allowing sideways action on both slow tight and fast wide turns too.
Now my welded needs some attention I need a replacement and a spare so what can I do to a STD LSD to tighten it massively to allow some slip but still be able to drift fast wide turns in the dry unlike all other STD LSDs ive used.
Regards mark

You can get them pumped up by bara, but they are always going to have the weak point of the planet gears.

I have a cheap welded going btw

I'm at about 330bhp and need something with a touch less push than a welded. Will the planets definately go using one for drifting? What's a Diff cost to getpumped by bara?

They are the weak point my mate done two in a week messing about drifting.

I wouldn't know the cost though tbh !

Jimbo's right, the planet gears are the wekest point in the std Cossie diffs. Even the uprated 'Motorsport' planet gears aren't that tough (although should cope with 330bhp when drifting as there's no traction/torque load on them when the wheels are spinning).

Bernie at CTS can blend a viscous fluid for you so it will feel much tighter than std. He once re-rated one for me to a 'hooning around' spec.

Other than that just bite the bullet and get a plated diff from the likes of Gripper or Titan

I'm going to have to stick with a welded then for now, a gripper sounds the business, is the Titan rated as a "hooning around" diff. I've had no failure with this one in 1200 drifting and messing around miles, untill the bearing on the output shaft started squealing, can't really complain for £50 apart from the knocking and like I said the initial push

You may need to look at a Supra diff conversion from Mk with the billet rear cover and have bara whack in a weir maxi kit....I think the drifters use them a lot and good for over 600bhp....

You can't drive a 4x4 without the front drive shafts, it will fry the centre viscous coupling trying to match the drive to front and rear wheels.
