Default mk4 escort xr3i rear camber adjustment?????

Hi, I have a 80 spec xr3i, that i am currently doing up. I have fitted gmax shocks and springs (30mm), flo flex polybushes all round, rs turbo wheels and in a few weeks turbo engine and cossie breaks. I have only recently stripped and refitted all the rear suspension so know everythings cushty, stub axles straight etc, but i am wanting to adjust the camber on the rear wheels, ive read this will improve stability somewhat and also just looks cool. I have heard of two methods; Drilling out the suspension top mounts, pushing the strut top inwards and re-tightening the bolt (to me this sounds dodgy), or rear 'camber shims', i have been told this is a tried and tested method on golfs etc, could anyone shed some light on the subject as i cannot find escort shims, would golf, peugeot etc fit? Thanks

The cheapest way to get some camber is to place a washer under each lower bearing carrier and tighten, as you have drum brakes rear this would go between the back plate and arm on each wheel, just on the lower bolts so it pushes the bottom out creating some negative, but don't go mad washer thickness wise, more is not always best.

Just buy a pair of camber bolts. That is the standard adjustable way.
