Default PLEASE PLEASE help me get my 2L zetec running!!!!

hi peeps ive got a big problem, my xr2i wont start im going to eplain in detail what i have done and i am a qualified mechanic so i will understand technical jargon.

Right i have a 105ps 1800 16v xr2i registered aug 92, ive been doing a 2L silvertop convertion recently and now got to the point of starting it but it wont. Apon investigation ive found that i have a spark and the fuel pump primes and then switches to earth like it should but when you crank it it dosent go live and when you trow a manual live while cranking it still wont fire?? I have also replaced the fuel relay. I started tracing all the wires in the loom and all are ok and on the right components so it leed me to think its the ecu witch have been changed for a 2litre non pats mondeo ecu with the code DEEP on it (the old 105ps one was 2FCD. i then thought 1 or 2 pins on the ecu would be different so i compared the 2 on autodata and found pin 22 on the fiesta loom is the fuel pump relay and pin 22 on the mondy ecu non pats fuel pump relay but also found pin 8 to be fuel pump relay too and on the fiesta loom pin 8 wasnt used so i removed pin 22 from the plug and put it into pin 8 and it didnt even prime, so then i bridged a wire from pin 8 to 22 and it primed again but still no live on cranking:wa ll:

please help me as im out of ideas, and its suposed to go to santa pod on sunday and ive got to do run in mileage on the rollers before i go , jon

fezski is an unknown quantity at this point

Wire a LED or test light between one of the injector plugs.......it should flash when you turn it over to show the ecu is pulsing them.

I`ve got a similar problem with my mk2 fiesta running a `deep` ecu at the moment. All sensors check out, got spark and pump is priming but no pulse. Tracked it down to the 4 injector wires being live at the ecu plug when they shouldnt be even with the injector live feed disconnected. Checked all the live/switched lives and earths, traced all the wired back and it seems they are getting live from the ecu. Tried 3 different deep/deck/dewy ecu`s all the same I`ve even wired a 2nd loom from scratch and its still doing it.

youi using the xr2i loom? you want the si loom and the 2l maf for that ecu will purrrr mate as the mondeo uses an internal edis as does the si and iirc the xr and rs1800 use external...?? ether way you need the 1.6si loom its a direct fit and works 100%

its very nice mate, its space framed and custom tunneled and with only a length of box section at the rear for the diff mount and the rear beam has been shortend and modifed to fit on the standard rear axle mounts. its a very neat job and one off way of doing it and with 410bhp and 400ftlb of torque at 2500rpm it just goes everywhere sideways. We will be at central day all the cossies we have at the time will be on the stand and so will the cossie fiesta and my fiesta. Look out for the southcoast performance stand.

as for my car i cant get a loom atm but will get one by tuesday latest as i have to have my car back now, ive been driving a shite ka for 5 bloody months
