Default t3 to manifold gasket

just taken my t3 off the manifold now i need to replace the gasket, will this one do ?

i thought that a softer material would be a better seal ?

I don't much like the look of that one because it's not got the crushable sealing ring; - its just a flat piece of stainless.

I've always used these style ones effectively; - notice the ridge round the inside that the one you posted doesn't have...

There hasn't been one originally. Nothing wrong with using one tough.

I had to use one because the mating face on my manifold was slightly deformed. One of those gaskets with the sealing ring sorted it right out.

really?

there was no gasket fitted for a good reson!
when the gasket fails due to the heat, where do all the bits go?
thats right, into your turbo killing the internals.

face fit. skim them if they leak.

That's a scenario that is very hard for me to believe ever work out. Do you know of any cases where the turbine would have been killed by a Garrett exhaust gasket?

ive seen exhaust paste cause turbo damage years ago,

i have no doubt a fragment of gasket heading in to a turbine flat out would cause damage
