Default KA Engine Management Light

Hi All,

The missus has a problem with her KA, the engine management light came on about a week ago, checked under the bonnet, and the coolent level was down below the min, so topped it up, and took it for a drive. Turned the engine off, left it for a bit, then started it, and the light went off.
It's been off until today, checked it over and it looked like the coolent level was down again, un-done the cap, and it released the pressure as was back up to the proper level. Started it up again, the engine management went off!

So am wondering if it's a coolent/sensor problem, or just a coinsidence.

Is there any way to real the fault codes without taking it to the main stealers??

You would be better off concentrating on where the water is going, fixing this will fix the problem, so find that leak.

Isn't there a way of reading the fault code of the dash display? When you hold down the odometer button, and turn the key to position 2?

As said the coolant loss is whats wrong you need to find where it's leaking a code will not help with this problem as it's a mechanical problem, you are correct you hold down millage trip and turn ignition on carry on holding down you will enter self diagnostics (Gauge sweep will be performed, Will reset trip but nothing major) you then cycle through by pressing trip until you see DTC here a code may be displayed.
