Default uncontrollable revving problem.

Im having a little problem with my Ka. I think she's a 93 1.3..... make sense???

Whilst driving when i have my foot is fully on the clutch my car is revving uncontrollably.. its getting really loud and lasts about a full 10 seconds.....

It is quite worrying as ill soon be driving to work and don't want anything happening to my car.....
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Thanks

There is an over-run switch on the clutch pedal iirc. Might have something to do with it? Only similar problem I ever had was down to a lambda sensor, but that was bad all the time not just with the clutch down

sounds like idle speed control valve stuck to me, take it off and give it a good clean out

My mates 1.3 fiesta did this after he went through a rather large puddle a bit fast. New throttle position sensor (old one was full of water) and it was fine.

Could be tps but unlikely imo, it could be the speed sensor gone duff, and not telling the ecu the car is stationary, what sort of rpm do you see, the idea of the speed sensor, which is seprate from the speedo sensor is to hold the revs higher than idle when chaging gear etc to help smoother changes.

i have found the ford technical bullitain but it is for later ka's than yours(96 on) and it is for "idle speed hang up during gear change" which in laymans teams means engine revs uncontrollable during gear changes.
and it recomends fitting a modified throttle position sensor multi plug, finis code 1 150 138.

i can scan the sheet and post it up here if you want as it explaines how to do the job.
