Default Clutch not fully disengaging

Since owning my cabby turbo its always crunched reverse gear and sometimes struggled to get in first. once in either of these gears it also creeps sometimes. the bite is right at the bottom of the peddle.

It has an organic clutch in it.

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions of how to cure this? is the clutch cable old and stretched? do i need to do the clutch mod to raise the peddle abit (i thought it was only paddle cutches that needed this?)

Thanks.

If the clutch was knackered the bite would be right at the top, not at the bottom of peddle?
Nah its smooth when I press the peddle.

it would only be at the top if the friction plate was worn but if the pressure plate was knackered it would struggle to bite

Doh! you may be right. dont wanna start raising the peddle for more bite if its actually the clutch at fault

Before the gearbox gets ripped out, just check nothing's bent or split from the pedal down to the arm, also the plastic bushes in the gearbox where the shaft goes down aren't worn or missing. I've had a release arm cracked before now, it felt like the clutch was working ok but it was actually bending the arm instead of disengaging the pressure plate. Get someone to work the clutch while you check.

Yeh ive had a release arm crack and bend before. but it was easily replaces cuz it was bolted on/clamped on one. but on this box its welded on so not sure how to replace the arm? we did compare it to my fezzy and my mates rs turbo and it does look like the arm should be further back.

The arm may appear to be further back only because the pressure plate is worn and the ratchet has taken up the slack mate. Looks like you'll have to bite the bullet and take the box off to investigate
