XR3I Fuel Tank Sender Unit
i have a 1990 xr3i and im having trouble with my fuel guage since i had the fuel tank replaced last week, i have been told the sender unit needs replacing, can anyone tell me where i an get one from? or secondly i have seen a MK3 sender unit, will this fit my mk4? hope someone can help me

i had the same problem with my 1990 one . you can get replacments from your local motor factors but there not cheap £249 just for the sender i havnt botherd with mine as reads ok in a straight line just goes down when i corner

MK3, early MK4 and 90 spec cars are all different.
When refiting a tank it is not unheard that the float and wire arm drops out and away from its retaining clips. When the tank fills the float raises and hits the bottom retaining lip preventing it from raising any further hence the empty reading on the gauge.
It is very easy to pull the sender back out of the tank pop the arm back in to place and all should be well. Well in many cases anyway.
