ST170 Batt Light
Driving along last night in my GF's 170 the batt light came on. had a quick look but because of the bloody rain we decided it be best to get it home.
Ive just had a look today and have found that on the alternator there is a 3 pin connector and one of the wires has broken out of this. I removed the connector and found the other 2 wires are about to break too. It seems the harness is extremely tight once the conector is connected and the movement of the engine is causing it to break. The wires have broken right on the edge of the terminal so i havent got any room to repair it.
Does anybody know if you can buy new terminals/ connectors from Ford and has anybody seen this problem before with their 170. Obviously im going to have to extend the wires to stop this happening again but to me It seems a bad design fault.
