Default pinto block

hi i was just wondering if a pinto block could be used as a cosworth block a 2.0 block i found one that has 2222 by the dizzy i now the cosworth block were jus selected pinto block would that mean i could use a std pinto or is it a no no

There's no difference. Non 4x4 Cosworth blocks were simply cherry picked Pinto 205 blocks that had excellent tollerances - which yours has denoted by the 2222 gradings. Your block could as easily ended up in a Cosworth.

Once you rebore them though the bore gradings are meaningless.

so what would need to be done to the block to use it as a cosworth block .do ya think gettin it xrayed would be gud

I used a normal 205 pinto block running upto 340bhp for 7 years before it broke.

right im havein the block out this old transit there scrapping at work then lol thats got the 2222 on

iv jus read that the early transit pinto arnt the same as the cosworth block is this correct lol

All i know is that a transit pinto had a lower comp than a normal pinto.

BTW my block did have a cossie crank and rods fitted in it.

Then it would be designated 20 not 205 in which case you can't. If it is 205 (revised in 1985-1990 hence where the 5 on the end comes from) then as said it's just a selected 205 block and you can use it.
