Default mk4 xr3i efi misfire/hesitation low revs on high load

hey chaps and chapettes, wondering if any1 can help me with a problem i have with my xr3i i have recently got out of storage ot put on the road for use, i didnt remember it doing it before changing the plugs tbh but i have noticed a misfire or slight hesitation around 1500 to 2000 revs when in a slightly too high a gear driving around steadily, like a very slight misfire then it will carry on as normal picking up revs and speed.

i set the denso plugs to 1mm gap, possibly too much gap?

My orion 1.6 efi CVH has recently started doing this... between 1500 & 2300 rpm it hesitates like feck, but then its smooth from 2300rpm upwards.

When giving it a thrape, mine wont rev above 5000rpm now either. I'm guessing the camshaft is worn / wearing away, as mines been a gradual decline over the last few months.

I'd go for plugs / leads, but if they dont cure it then more than likely the cam's worn on it.

it sounds healthy if a little cammy tbh, i will try the old plugs back in it and possibly some leads and go from there im tempted to do cam and hyf tappets etc anyway but just getting the time

yeh its ok if you dont tootle around, i.e if u jus rev it above 3krpm before changing up, but on load and little throttle pressure it misses then picks up and pulls strongly to 6k odd revs

nah - mines chattering like on ohv... lol. Deffo the cam worn in mine. For the sake of Ł10 i'd try a new set of plugs in yours and it'll probably be ok.
